Phoebe Waller-Bridge has built a career out of creating characters who say and do the unexpected. Her writing eschews stereotypes and presses into uncomfortable narrative territory with profound, often hilarious results. An actor since 2008, she gained fame as the creator, writer, and star of the BBC’s shocking and riotously funny sitcom “Fleabag” (2016-2019). She has since made a career for herself writing transgressive women, including those featured in the hit AMC spy thriller "Killing Eve" (2018-2022). When asked in a 2018 “Guardian” interview if she’s always been able to say the unsayable, she replied: “Yes. As long as it feels truthful… it is always exciting.”
