Most of us will experience times in our lives when we feel like we don’t fit in. Feeling out of place — whether it's in school, in social situations, or within our own families — may make us feel inadequate, disheartened, isolated, or downright awkward. Acceptance from others can make certain parts of life easier — but trying too hard to conform can prevent us from being true to ourselves.
